Everonian
'The old blood remembers.'
Overview
The Everonians are the descendants of lost Everon, the ancient kingdom said to have existed before the rise of Solamir and the kingdoms of the present age. Though the realm itself was destroyed long ago, its bloodlines endure in scattered noble families, hidden lineages, and a few rare individuals who still bear the marks of their ancestry.
Everonians resemble humans, but are often taller, finer-featured, and possessed of an uncommon presence. Pale skin, dark or golden hair, and striking eyes of blue, grey, silver, or gold are all more common among them than among other peoples. Some possess an almost luminous quality, seeming somehow more vivid or sharply defined than those around them.
For centuries, the blood of Everon has been associated with wisdom, leadership, and an unusually strong connection to the Spark. Old tales claim that the people of Everon lived longer, learned more quickly, and carried within them a greater strength of spirit than other mortals. Whether these stories are wholly true or merely the embellishments of history is a matter of debate, but even now those of Everonian descent are often regarded with a mixture of admiration, envy, and unease.
Few Everonians openly call themselves such in the present age. Most have been absorbed into the peoples of Athera, especially among the nobility of Solamir, where certain ancient houses quietly claim descent from the old realm. Others conceal their ancestry entirely, preserving old names, heirlooms, and traditions only within the privacy of their families.
Among the oldest and rarest bloodlines, it is whispered that some descend more directly from the great lords and rulers of ancient Everon than others. Such claims are seldom spoken aloud, and rarely proven.
To most people, Everonians are not a distinct people encountered every day, but the fading remnant of a vanished age — a reminder that the greatness of the past has not wholly disappeared from the world.

Roleplaying
To play an Everonian is to play someone burdened by legacy. Whether your character embraces their ancestry or hides it, they come from a people remembered as greater than those who followed. Others may look upon them with admiration, suspicion, envy, or unrealistic expectations. Everonians often feel the weight of history more keenly than others. They may take pride in their bloodline, preserve old customs and heirlooms, or quietly struggle beneath the expectations placed upon them. Some see themselves as guardians of what remains of the old world. Others wish only to escape the shadow of a kingdom that fell long before they were born. Many Everonians hide their ancestry from strangers. In the present age, openly claiming descent from Everon can attract dangerous attention, unwanted curiosity, or resentment from those who distrust the old blood. Characters might pass themselves off as ordinary Solamirians, only revealing the truth to close friends or family.
Everonians are not perfect, nor are they all noble. Some become arrogant, aloof, or convinced of their own superiority. Others may feel isolated, unable to truly belong among ordinary people. The best Everonian characters are those who wrestle with the tension between who they are, who others expect them to be, and who they wish to become.
