Welcome! If you've never played a MUD before, don't worry - you're in the right place.
A MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) is a text-based online roleplaying game where every action, description, and conversation is written rather than shown. Imagine a collaborative fantasy novel where dozens of players explore, fight, craft, scheme, and build stories together - entirely through text.
Death's Omen is a roleplay-focused fantasy world, where your character is defined not by levels or gear, but by the choices you make, the stories you contribute to, and the life you breathe into them through your writing.
What to Expect in Death's Omen
Death's Omen takes place in the world of Athera, a land shaped by ancient Eternals, living kingdoms, wandering peoples, deep forests, and storm-swept plains. It is a setting built for story and immersion - where your character is one voice among many, and the world reacts to how you play.
You'll step into a place where:
- Roleplay drives the experience
- Combat is gritty and descriptive

Required Reading (Highly Recommended)
New players are encouraged to read the introductory lore and cultural summaries found throughout the World menu. These pages provide the necessary context to create grounded, believable characters within Athera's setting.
You do not need to memorize anything - just gain a sense of the world your character will live in.

Your First Steps
Once you've explored the basics, your next destination will be the pages below (found in the New Players menu):

When you're ready to begin:

Connect using any MUD client (Mudlet, TinTin++, CMUD, etc.) and the game will guide you through creating your account and your first character.
